Can anyone come to your services?
Everyone is welcome. We have two worship services, one at 8:30 am and one at 11 am; the 11 am service tends to have a higher attendance. Both services follow the same format. Our services are about one hour long and include a blend of both contemporary and traditional styles of music, relevant for today while still appreciating and incorporating dynamic worship from the past. Instruments may include piano, keyboard, electric guitars and drums. Our desire is that the music is tastefully done, exalts the Lord and assists our corporate worship of Him. Once a month, usually on the first Sunday, we observe Communion. You do not have to be a member at First Central to receive communion; anyone who professes Christ as their Lord and Savior is welcome to join us.
What do I wear?
Come as you are. You will find people in suits and ties, dresses, casual attire and jeans.
Where do I park?
We have two parking lots, one adjacent to the church building and one across the street. In addition, there is parking available on several nearby streets. We ask that our members who are able-bodied park further away so as to leave the choicest spots for our elderly and infirm, families with small children and guests.
How do I get in?
The main entrance to our sanctuary is at the top of the large steps on the corner of the building. Handicap access is available at the opposite end of the building. Upon entering, take the elevator to the second floor and proceed down the hallway where you will find a lift, capable of allowing wheelchair and walker access to the sanctuary level.
What about my children?
We have a fully-staffed nursery on the first floor near the elevator entrance. During worship services, children up to age 3 are welcome to use our nursery. During our 11 am service, in addition to our nursery, we offer Junior Church for children age 4 through grade 3. Children attend the first part of the service with their parents and are dismissed to Junior Church partway through the service. They may be picked up in Room 211 after the service.
Will I be expected to give money?
We receive an offering to further God’s work both locally and around the world. As a guest you are not asked or expected to give anything but you are free to do so if you choose.
How can I find out more?
Ask any greeter or usher or call or stop by the church office. We'll provide information about our classes, services and events. You'll learn more about who we are and what we offer.
There is no need to make an appointment; just ask!
