First Central Bible Church

We have many different ministries here at First Central Bible Church.  Take a minute to browse this page or click the links to visit some of our other ministry pages to see what we have going on.

Sunday School is the Church at study; the Church in fellowship. It not only provides a fruitful study of God's Word without which a Christian cannot grow, but it also provides the small group setting in which real fellowship and sharing can take place. There are classes for all ages - 2 through 102, including several classes for adults meeting a variety of needs. Come join us Sunday Mornings at 9:15 am.

The Usher/Greeter ministry serves God by serving the church body and providing a welcome to people who walk into our church.  Greeters serve by providing a pleasant reception at church doors; Ushers serve by assisting people in finding seats or places in the building and collecting the offering. For people who would like to become involved, this is a simple way to begin serving in our church.

We believe that as a church our primary responsibility is to meet spiritual needs; however, it is our desire to follow Christ’s command in providing essentials such as food and clothing for needy families. Our Lord's Pantry and Clothing Closet show Christ's love to people in a practical way. God has used this ministry to open doors, bringing people to know about Jesus Christ, our Savior. These ministries are open every Tuesday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, year round (except the 2nd Tuesday of each month, when we are open 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm).

Prayer is an important part of the Christian life and is an important part of our ministry here at First Central Bible Church. We have a dedicated group that meets on Wednesday evenings for a time of prayer and bible study. Requests from the church family are collected and provided so that specific needs may be prayed for. We also have a Prayer Chain ministry, for emergencies needing immediate prayer, which can be contacted 24/7.

God has blessed our Missionary Family and the work they are doing as they spread the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ and His love to the people of the world. We count approximately 30 families and 12 agencies as our missionary family serving in fields such as Africa, Indonesia, Russia, South America, and the Philippines, as well as here in the United States. We schedule our missionaries to speak whenever possible during the year offering our "What in the World? Luncheons where we learn more about our missionary family in a relaxed, informal setting.  We periodically make opportunities available for short-term missions. Our desire is for First Central to be a "Missionary-Minded" Church.
Our services include a blend of both contemporary and traditional styles of music, relevant for today while still appreciating and incorporating dynamic worship from the past.  Instruments may include piano, keyboard, electric guitars and drums.  Our desire is that the music is tastefully done, exalts the Lord and assists our corporate worship of Him.
Our church library is well stocked with  the newest literature and  DVDs as well as many old favorites. Feel free to come in and browse around - it is located on the 2nd floor.

Sports also plays a role in ministry at First Central.

Seniors Alive meets every Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 -- 3:00 for fun, fellowship, support and encouragement. Join us any Wednesday in the 3rd floor classroom. Seniors Alive meets September through June.
Senior Saints is a ministry to everyone over the age of 55. This group meets the third Saturday of each month at 12:00 noon for a potluck luncheon, which also includes music, a guest speaker, and of course, good fellowship. Special events are also planned throughout the year.
