Do we need to be part of a church to be a Christian? In a postmodern, pluralistic society, is the church still relevant? Is the church even necessary?
The apostle Paul addresses those questions in his first letter to Timothy. Paul explains that a well-ordered church, a clearly called and mature leadership with its priorities straight, and a body of believers committed to living a godly life in Christ are vital to people being saved and coming to a knowledge of the truth.
As Paul draws the blueprints for the church, he challenges us to guard what has been entrusted to our care, to fight the good fight, and to keep preaching the Word.
