A. W. Tozer once stated, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” The prophet Daniel said, “…the people who know their God will display strength and take action” (Daniel 11:32b).
What we think about God determines what we think about everything else. Our perspective of God determines whether our problems are insurmountable and beyond God’s ability or whether they pale in comparison to his great glory, whether we face the future with fear or with confidence, whether or not we stand firm in the midst of danger or whether we cower in the corner.
In Scripture, God reveals himself through his names. God’s names gives us a glimpse into his multifaceted character. The goal of this sermon series is that by studying God’s names, we will get to help us know him better so that we can pray with greater confidence, face challenges with assurance, worship him with greater reverence, and be able to stand firm in the face of opposition.
